Michael Gerber E Myth Books

Michael Gerber, founder of E Myth Worldwide is a major influence both on small businesses around the world and also on the small business coaching industry.

He has used writing books as a major source of lead generation and I have lost count of the number of people who have told me that I need to read E Myth books.

I rapidly agree with them and tell them that I recommend that my business coaching clients read The E Myth Revisited. I have even given clients and prospects copies when I wanted to emphasise particular points.

The only concern I have about recommending Michael Gerber books is the writing style which can be syrupy and becomes sickening in places. My view is to try to look beyond this and focus on the key messages.

The E Myth Revisited

I believe that this is an updated version of the original E Myth book and it is a book I regard as a must read by every small business owner and any one who is serious about advising small businesses.

When I first read it I couldn't look beyond the writing style but people kept telling me how much they had gained out of it so I decided to persevere.

Now it is a book I read about once per year and refer to often.

The Power Point

I have read this Michael Gerber book but I haven't written a review yet.

The E Myth Manager

I have read this Michael Gerber book and found it very thought-provoking and slightly disturbing since so many employees haven't worked out their role in life. Sorry but I haven't written a review of it yet.

The E Myth Contractor

I have also read but not yet reviewed this Jay Abraham book which is focused on the construction industry. In some ways I see it as a dumbed-down version of The E Myth Revisited for builders. Fortunately the syrupy writing is cut back with an interesting building industry story.

E Myth Mastery

In this E Myth book, Michael Gerber takes the ideas in The E Myth Revisited and gives practical information on how to apply them with major excerpts from the expensive E Myth coaching program also called E Myth Mastery.

If anything, the writing style is worse around the Mastery extracts but the quality of content is high. As a result the E Myth Mastery book carries a health warning which cost it a star in my review but it is still recommended.

Awakening The Entrepreneur Within

After Michael Gerber left his day to day involvement with E Myth Worldwide, he started a new process to help entrepreneurs to create compelling visions which will lead to great businesses called "In the Dreaming Room".

I went to one of the Dreaming Rooms - in London in October 2006 - and it was very interesting and Michael Gerber explained that he was writing a new book based on these latest ideas.

I was so looking forward to the release of this Michael Gerber book which was released in the USA before the UK. I imported my copy but I was so disappointed.

I don't believe that it is half the book that it could have been and is very self-promotional in places.
